Training to Teach at St Peter's

At St Peter’s, we value working in partnership with teacher training organisations. Our most established partnership is with Teaching London: LDBS SCITT with whom we work in collaboration to recruit and train teachers on the School Direct programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

Our long-established partnership with the LDBS SCITT has enabled us to train many outstanding teachers, some of whom have gone on to work within our school.

What is School Direct?

School Direct is a school-based route into teaching. As a School Direct trainee training with our school and our ITT provider, Teaching London, you’ll learn alongside inspiring, passionate teachers with outstanding pedagogical knowledge. You will be trained to become a successful, confident and effective teacher, and will be equipped to teach in a dynamic and vibrant primary school. You will undertake entirely ‘on the job’ teacher training, allowing you to gain the qualifications and practical skills required to become a teacher.
